The Power of the Poppy

Is it just us, or does merely looking at spring-like images bring hope that these dark, grey days are short lived?

They are shorter-lived than they may seem, by the way — 36 days until spring!

Until then, here are a few poppy options (poptions? anyone?) that are simultaneously cheering us up and making our credit cards sad.

American Apparel Peach Skin Lola Dress

Coach iPhone Case via Macy’s

BCBG Maria Slim Pant in Poppy

Madewell Sidewalk Skimmer in Flame

Pour la Victoire  Poppy & Patent Tote

Topshop Poppy-Print Snood

Tory Burch Logo Snap Cuff

Trina Turk Solid Crepe Finch Top

Yves St. Laurent Poppy-Print Triangle Bikini

High Low

I have been decidedly anti when it comes to the high-low look, or as I like to call it, the reverse mullet. Party in front, business in back! Until all of a sudden, I’m decidedly pro. I attribute this sudden change of heart to the many cute girls rocking their high-low skirts on Michigan Ave, Pinterest, and a deep desire to use the phrase “party in front, business in back” at least a few times this summer.

High Low
Akiko high low maxi dress / Striped dress / Color block dress / ASOS high low dress / Amanda Uprichard silk skirt / Tylie Malibu hi low skirt / Amanda Uprichard silk skirt / BCBGeneration skirt

And we’ll all float on okay

Stripe shirt, $56 Bcbgeneration shoes, $48 J Crew j crew handbag, $98 Kate spade bangle, $98 Kate Spade post earrings, $68 J Crew tying scarve, $55 Talula shorts

I am SUCH a sucker (seersucker? ….nevermind) for a good nautical theme. While I realize it would be nothing less than terrifying to wear this entire ensemble at once – I love each and every little piece of this and basically anything that says, “I’m going sailing!”
